В Benedict Point Irish сообщает John Marston, что шахтёры в Gaptooth Breach нашли Gatling Gun. Это оружие нужно для намеченного нападения на Fort Mercer, и John едет с Irishem к шахте. По дороге Irish поёт "Lily of the West". По прибытии им преграждают путь шахтёры верхом. John убивает их и спускается по тропе к входу.
John расправляется с шахтёрами снаружи Gaptooth Breach и входит в тоннели. Дальше в проходах стоят другие вооружённые люди, укрывающиеся за ящиками и взрывчаткой. John пробивается через шахту и добирается до вагонетки, в которой лежит Gatling Gun. Там к нему присоединяется Irish, и они отправляют нагруженную вагонетку по подземным рельсам.
Вагонетка подъезжает к подъёмнику, и Irish поднимает John вместе с Gatling Gun на поверхность. John продолжает толкать её, отбиваясь от шахтёров, нападающих у путей. Digby Haskins перекрывает дорогу, пока John не взрывает рядом с ним заряды. Разобравшись с остальными нападающими, John доставляет оружие к ожидающей повозке Irisha. Irish грузит его и уезжает из Gaptooth Breach, чтобы отвезти Gatling Gun Nigel West Dickens.

- ◆Irish can be heard singing a song titled "Lily of the West" while traveling to the mine. While the most well known version became popular in the United States by parlor singers and ballad-printers, this song originates from the west of Ireland; in the U.S. version, the woman's name is Mary, while her original Irish name is Flora.
- ◆The name of this mission, like many others, is a Biblical reference, in this case Job 5:7 (KJV): "Yet man is born unto trouble; as the sparks fly upwards."
- ◆If the player follows Irish after the end of the mission, they can see the box with the Gatling Gun in it has disappeared, Irish is driving an empty cart.
- ◆Irish may fall off the cliff and die when he tells the player to meet him at the bottom of the hill but the player will not fail the mission.
