Man is Born Unto Trouble

At Benedict Point, Irish tells John Marston that miners at Gaptooth Breach have uncovered a Gatling Gun. The weapon is needed for the planned attack on Fort Mercer, so John rides with Irish to the mine. Irish sings "Lily of the West" along the way. At the approach, miners on horseback confront them, and John kills them before moving down the trail toward the entrance.

John fights through the miners outside Gaptooth Breach and enters the tunnels. More armed men hold the passages beyond the entrance, using crates and explosives for cover. John clears a route through the mine until he reaches the rail cart carrying the Gatling Gun. Irish joins him there, and together they set the loaded cart in motion along the underground tracks.

The cart reaches a lift, which Irish uses to bring John and the Gatling Gun up to the surface. John pushes the cart onward while defending it from miners who attack along the rails. A man named Digby Haskins blocks the route until John detonates explosives near him. After the remaining attackers are dealt with, John brings the gun to Irish's waiting wagon. Irish loads it aboard and drives the cart away from Gaptooth Breach to deliver it to Nigel West Dickens.
