Daryl Johns

Daryl Johns calls himself a prodigy. He leaves school early after devising a simple bank robbery: he hands a teller a note and leaves with a few thousand dollars. He succeeds four times before the fifth attempt sends him to prison for ten years. Inside, Daryl studies sociology, psychology and animal behavior, later claiming that prison turned his mind into a super weapon and was the best thing that happened to him.

After The Paleto Score Setup, Lester Crest can recruit Daryl as a gunman for Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton and Trevor Philips. He arrives with little firearms ability but abundant confidence, dismissing the others as amateurs and insisting he should plan the scores. During The Paleto Score, if hired, he is pinned against a wall by a police car during the escape from Paleto Bay and dies. Michael and Trevor leave with the money he drops beside his body.

Daryl can also join The Bureau Raid. On the fire crew route, he dies while escaping the FIB building unless Hugh Welsh or Norm Richards is the other gunman, in which case that second gunman dies in the blast. On the roof route, he carries an Assault Rifle and can survive the shootout. He later works on either version of The Big Score: on the subtle route, as the first gunman, he drops gold while loading the Gauntlet; on the obvious route, he can complete either gunman role, though an inexperienced Daryl may die in the police fight.
