Player notes

Michael De Santa or Trevor Philips sets out across the Grand Senora Desert to secure the military equipment needed for the Paleto job. A convoy is moving toward Fort Zancudo, with two Crusaders escorting a Barracks truck carrying the hardware. He catches the convoy before it reaches the base and blocks its route, using the roadside and his vehicle to force the soldiers into a fight.

The escorting military personnel open fire as the convoy stops. Michael or Trevor kills the guards around the Barracks and the Crusaders, then takes control of the transport truck. The Barracks holds two crates of military hardware, so he leaves the ruined convoy behind and drives the truck away from the desert without letting the remaining soldiers reclaim it.

He takes the Barracks to Trevor's meth lab in Sandy Shores and parks it behind Trevor's office. Once he gets out, he calls Lester to report that the hardware has been delivered.

Objectives

In the order the game gives them. The unnumbered steps only appear if you go off script.

  1. 1Intercept the military hardware.
  2. 2Go to the meth lab.
  3. ยทGet back in the vehicle carrying the hardware.Exiting the truck after entry, before delivery.
  4. ยทDon't leave the hardware.Abandoning the truck's location after ambushing the convoy but before entering.
  5. 3Get out of the truck.
  6. 4Take out the remaining guards.

Gold medal

2 requirements

Every one of these in a single run earns the medal. Replaying the mission later counts.

  • Head Hunter

    Kill 5 enemies with a headshot.

  • Sticky Strategist

    Stop the convoy using a sticky bomb trap.

Mission failed if

Any of these fails the mission and sends you back to the last checkpoint.

  • ร—Wasted
  • ร—The hardware was abandoned.
  • ร—The convoy reached the base.
  • ร—The transport truck was destroyed.
  • ร—The transport truck got stuck.

Trivia

  • โ—†The mission can only be done at certain moments of the day, when a Barracks truck spawns and drives to the military base, so the mission may not always be done immediately after completing Paleto Score Setup.
  • โ—†The truck will drive all the way to Fort Zancudo if the player follows it, and even then they will still be able to steal it without failing the mission, despite the reason for the mission failing if they lose the truck being "The convoy reached the base".
  • โ—†Occasionally, the Barracks may spawn without the canvas roof. This is the only time this occurs in-game.
