Player notes
Michael meets Marnie Allen in a secluded alleyway in Downtown Vinewood. Acting for the Epsilon Program, Marnie tells him that the next stage of his progress requires a set of Epsilon Robes. They cost $25,000, and Michael must wear them for ten days. She leaves him to obtain the robes himself, ending the meeting in the Vinewood alley.
Marnie sends Michael an email containing a link to the Epsilon Program website. He orders the Epsilon Robes, then waits for them to arrive. A day later, another email confirms their delivery, and the robes appear in the wardrobe at Michael's safehouse. Michael puts them on, beginning the period in which he is expected to remain dressed in them.
Michael continues wearing the Epsilon Robes as the days pass. After ten days, Cris Formage sends him a text saying that the Program is interested in his progress and that he will soon be summoned. Cris is added to Michael's contacts, then sends another message directing Michael toward his next task.
Trivia
- โAfter waiting 24 hours for the Epsilon Robes to be delivered, the player has to exit the bedroom (not the house, only the bedroom) for the robes to be delivered.
- โWhile wearing the robes, NPCs that greet Michael, such as shop owners, may greet him with "Kifflom!" instead of their usual greeting.
- โIf the player does travel as Michael while wearing the robes, Michael will talk to himself using unique dialogue related to the beliefs of the Epsilon Program. This also applies during the Exercising the Truth mission. Examples include:
- โ"Trees talk... but they're not very interesting."
- โ"Oh brother, brother, brother. What have I gotten myself into?"
- โ"Hey, I'm self-actualizing over here."
- โ"They say I'm not present; that's 'cause I'm in a million dimensions at once."
- โ"I got a cloud empire and a planet, and I'm a king, like everyone else."
- โ"Would these trees just shut up!?"
- โ"It ain't a cult. It ain't a cult. It ain't... a cult."
- โ"You can't put a price on self-actualization. Actually you can, and I'm payin' it!"
- โ"Maybe I'm scatty because I'm in forty thousand places at the same time!"
- โ"How do you know if you're ready when you're not ready, and you're kinda ready and ready all at once?"
- โThe name of the mission is a pun, as bearing can also mean to wear. Michael has to wear the robes in order to pass the mission.
- โMichael can wear glasses and helmets with the Epsilon tunics and the timer will not reset.
- โWhile having to wear the robes for 10 days, the player can use that time to collect all the collectibles and complete various random events.
- โDepending upon which point in the story the player is at when the Epsilon uniform is worn, Michael can potentially hang out with Franklin, Trevor, Amanda, and/or Jimmy while wearing the Epsilon Robes uniform.
- โIf Michael orders the Epsilon Robes while he and Trevor are exiled to Blaine County, they will be delivered to his mansion, not to Trevor's Trailer. Therefore, if he orders them during that time, the player must first wait until Monkey Business is completed before they can be worn.
- โThe player no longer has to wear the robes 10 consecutive days in the PC release, as the objective is changed to "cumulative". However, swapping characters and returning to Michael resulting in a change of outfits can still sometimes reset the counter.
- โRunning at minimum 11 days (including the 24-hour wait period for the robes to arrive), if one does the sleeping trick, and potentially much longer if the "cumulative" 10 days is active, this is the single longest mission in GTA V (if not the entire franchise to date) in terms of elapsed time.
