About this vehicle
The Packer is an MTL Commercial-class car transporter in Grand Theft Auto V. It is a two-door semi-trailer truck with room for two occupants, built around a heavy truck cab and a carrier body for moving vehicles. Rather than the self-contained industrial truck seen in earlier games, this version uses a tractor-style layout.
Its front end takes much of its shape from the Brute Stockade, including the hood, lamps and fenders. The cab section draws from the JoBuilt Phantom, carrying over its split windscreen, mirrors, roof equipment and side steps with several alterations. Its sleeper cab is shorter and raised, and an air deflector gives the vehicle similarities to the Mack Pinnacle CXU613.
The Packer appears as a working commercial transporter in the world of Grand Theft Auto V. Its carrier body is used to haul vehicles, while its semi-truck form separates it from the older Packer designs that combined the cab and transport frame into one truck. It is manufactured by MTL.
Trivia
- โAn unused duplicate of the Packer, internally named packer2 is left unused in The Lost and Damned.
- โDespite the Packer's 2-person capacity in normal gameplay, in the mission Pack Man, it seats three people (Franklin, Trevor, and Lamar).
- โThe Packer's badges incorrectly refer to the engine as a "V24", where it actually means "24 valve", which is supposed to be written as "24v". This also applies to the Flatbed, Brickade and Phantom.
