Best Shotguns in GTA 5
Every shotgun in GTA 5 and GTA Online, ranked by damage with fire rate as the tie-break. Shotgun damage figures are close together; the real difference between them is fire rate and how many shells they hold.
The bars are Ammu-Nation's figures out of 100. Range is short for the whole class, which is the point of a shotgun.
#1The Double Barrel Shotgun is a 12 gauge break action shotgun in the Shotguns class, also known as the Double Barreled Shotgun. In Grand Theft Auto Online, its short, side by side form is based on a Zabala shotgun. It resembles the Sawed-Off Shotgun from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, though it is slightly larger and uses darker brown wood furniture. Its firing action releases the two barrels in rapid succession.
#2The Musket is a single-shot weapon in the Shotguns class, although it behaves more like a rifle than a conventional shotgun. Its model resembles a 19th-century flintlock musket, with a curved stock like those fitted to flintlock target rifles. "Edinburgh" is engraved along the barrel. It arrives in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online with the Independence Day Special update.
#3The Sawed-Off Shotgun is a Shrewsbury shotgun in Grand Theft Auto V, also called the Sawn-Off Shotgun or Sawnoff Shotgun. It is a compact, shortened firearm whose receiver and grip resemble the Pump Shotgun. Its altered barrel, magazine tube and pump handle set it apart from that weapon, along with its grey finish, changed iron sights and the absence of the Pump Shotgun's heat shield, rear stock and pump rails.
#4The Heavy Shotgun is a Shrewsbury 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun in the Shotguns class. Its design is based chiefly on the Russian Saiga 12K, a shortened, folding-stock version of the Kalashnikov-pattern Saiga 12. The in-game weapon shares its receiver with the Assault Rifle. It arrives with the Last Team Standing Update and has an eight-round magazine.
#5The Assault Shotgun is a fully automatic shotgun made by Vom Feuer, also known as the street sweeper. In Grand Theft Auto V, its revised design is based on a Turkish shotgun, although it fires automatically rather than operating as a pump action. It has a box magazine, a visible pump handle, side rails on its handguard and a slotted muzzle.
#6The Bullpup Shotgun is a lightweight, pump-action 11 GAUG2 shotgun made by Hawk & Little. Its compact bullpup layout is based on the KSG, although its body is squarer. It has rails along the top, sides and underside, with two tubes beneath the barrel. Markings identify it as United States Government property. Enhanced editions add iron sights.
#7The Combat Shotgun is a Vom Feuer 12-gauge shotgun in the Shotguns class. It is also known as the S.P.A.S. 12, Spaz shotgun, Spas 12 Shotgun and Spaz 12. Its design returns to the Franchi SPAS-12 form used in the 3D Universe, while details around its trigger guard, forend, pistol grip and receiver draw influence from another shotgun design. Its stock remains extended.
#8The Sweeper Shotgun is a Shrewsbury-made, semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun in Grand Theft Auto Online, added with the Bikers update. Also called the Sweeper, it uses a drum-fed layout with a ten-shell capacity. Its listed damage is 70, while its fire rate is 45, accuracy 22 and range 20.
#9The Vom Feuer Pump Shotgun Mk II is a 12 gauge, pump-action shotgun in Grand Theft Auto Online, added with The Doomsday Heist. It is the custom Mark II form of the Pump Shotgun rather than the standard weapon's Mossberg 590-style design. Its furniture includes a tactical rail, a revised pump fore-end, an AR-15-style collapsible stock, ergonomic pistol grip, rounded trigger guard and altered iron sights. It also carries a charging handle despite remaining pump-action only.
