Double Barrel Shotgun

The Double Barrel Shotgun is a 12 gauge break action shotgun in the Shotguns class, also known as the Double Barreled Shotgun. In Grand Theft Auto Online, its short, side by side form is based on a Zabala shotgun. It resembles the Sawed-Off Shotgun from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, though it is slightly larger and uses darker brown wood furniture. Its firing action releases the two barrels in rapid succession.

Ammu-Nation sells the Double Barrel Shotgun for $1,000. It carries the strongest damage rating among its listed attributes, while its fire rate is low and its accuracy and range are limited. The weapon is built around a close, hard-hitting discharge rather than sustained shooting. Its brief effective reach leaves little use for it at distance, despite the force of its 12 gauge shells.

At close range, the Double Barrel Shotgun can drop many NPC enemies with a single burst. It has to be reloaded after its barrels are discharged, so repeated use against separated targets is restricted by its short range and the pauses between bursts. It is most suited to enemies caught together within its spread. Like the Sawed-Off Shotgun and Sweeper Shotgun, it can also be fired from a motorcycle.
