Player notes
The Bull is a domestic cattle animal based on Bos taurus. Red Dead Redemption 2 includes three breeds: Angus Bull, Devon Bull and Hereford Bull. Each is a herbivore whose diet consists of grains, hay and corn.
Bulls live on farms and ranches, including Carmody Dell, Hill Haven Ranch and a farm near the northern edge of Saint Denis, east of Lakay. Only one bull appears at a location at a time, and its breed is selected at random. Angus and Devon Bulls appear more often than Hereford Bulls.
A bull's size makes it harder to kill than many animals. Bows with Improved Arrows and powerful rifles are effective against them, while their generally docile nature and fenced surroundings make a lasso and knife suitable for a clean kill. Bulls provide Bull Hide, Bull Horns and Prime Beef. Their meat is food, and their horns are used in crafting.
