The Legendary Rock Bass is a rare Legendary Fish in Red Dead Redemption 2, based on Ambloplites rupestris. It is associated with Aurora Basin in Tall Trees, West Elizabeth, at the head of the Lower Montana River west of Manzanita Trading Post. Reports place it in the basin on sunnier days. The fish can be caught from the dock at Swadbass Point, which overlooks the water.
A Special Lake Lure attracts the Legendary Rock Bass. It is one of the game's Legendary Fish and may be caught on its own or while Arthur Morgan is pursuing the Stranger mission A Fisher of Fish. Its legendary status sets it apart from ordinary Rock Bass, while its appearance is limited to the waters of Aurora Basin rather than the wider range of a regular catch.
After catching the fish, Arthur can send the Legendary Rock Bass to Jeremy Gill for his collection of legendary fish. This makes the catch part of Gill's request in A Fisher of Fish, as well as an independent entry among the Legendary Fish found across the world. The fish remains tied to Aurora Basin and Swadbass Point, where its catch begins.
