The Legendary Steelhead Trout is a legendary fish in Red Dead Redemption 2, based on Oncorhynchus mykiss. It is a rare trout distinguished from ordinary catches by its legendary status. Fishermen report it near Willard's Rest, where it inhabits the Kamassa River in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover.
It is found in the northern reaches of the Kamassa River, in the basin north of Annesburg and upstream from Brandywine Drop, near the waterfall. The trout is more active in rainy weather. The Special River Lure is the most effective lure for bringing it in, and casting downstream from the falls gives the best chance of catching it.
The Legendary Steelhead Trout can be caught independently while fishing, or caught for the Stranger mission "A Fisher of Fish." It is one of the game's 13 Legendary Fish. Its catch is recorded among the legendary fish sought across the world.
