Player notes
Before 1899, Baptiste works as a smuggler for Hercule Fontaine on Guarma. He helps Fontaine supply the rebellion fighting Colonel Alberto Fussar's rule of the island. Baptiste is associated with Leon Fuentes and remains part of Hercule's group as the conflict with Fussar's forces continues.
During Arthur Morgan's attempt to free captured workers, Cuban soldiers seize him before he reaches them. Arthur wakes tied to a chair in ruins, where Angel beats him while Baptiste and Leon are also held captive. When Angel's attention shifts, Arthur frees himself and overpowers the guard. He cuts Baptiste and Leon loose, but Baptiste has been badly beaten and cannot join the rescue.
Baptiste gives Arthur a Carbine Repeater before Arthur and Leon leave to save the workers facing execution. After the prisoners are freed, Baptiste meets them again and says Hercule has obtained a boat for Arthur and the Van der Linde gang to return to America. He hands Arthur $450, wishes him luck, and leaves Guarma with the liberated workers.
Trivia
- โBaptiste is one of the few NPCs that can be encountered who is missing a limb, as he is notably missing his left arm. It appears this may be a form of punishment enacted by the Cuban military, as a few of the locals are also missing their left arm or hand.
