Varmint Rifle

The Varmint Rifle is a quick-firing Lancaster rifle built for hunting small mammals and large birds. It holds fourteen rounds and uses Rifle Ammo. Its ammunition has reduced damage, giving the weapon a different role from heavier rifles intended for larger game or harder targets.

After completing "Eastward Bound", the Varmint Rifle is sold by every gunsmith for $72. Owners of the Special Edition or Ultimate Edition receive it free of charge. It can also be obtained without payment during a random encounter.

Its fast rate of fire and generous ammunition capacity set it apart from other low-damage hunting weapons. The rifle is used to kill small creatures while limiting damage to their pelts and meat, though its rapid fire also makes it useful when facing large groups of enemies.
