À Clemens Point, Molly O'Shea appelle Arthur Morgan pour lui parler de Dutch. Uncle les interrompt avant qu'elle ait le temps d'en dire beaucoup, ayant appris l'existence d'une charrette de ravitaillement apparemment non gardée. Arthur n'accepte d'y aller que si Uncle l'accompagne. Il part avec Uncle, Charles Smith et Bill Williamson, et les quatre hommes attendent l'arrivée de la charrette à un carrefour de Scarlett Meadows.
Ils arrêtent la charrette et apprennent de ses conducteurs qu'elle appartient à Cornwall Kerosene & Tar. Charles fouille l'arrière pendant qu'Arthur l'aide à prendre la paie. Les gardes de Cornwall convergent rapidement vers eux, forçant la bande à abandonner le vol et à fuir à cheval à travers les bois. Ils atteignent Compson's Stead, renvoient leurs chevaux et se cachent dans la grange à la tombée de la nuit.
Des gardes fouillent la propriété après qu'un squatteur dans la maison a signalé un bruit près de la grange. Bill renverse un seau lorsque les hommes entrent, révélant la bande. Arthur, Uncle, Charles et Bill se frayent un chemin dehors tandis qu'une lanterne brisée embrase la grange. Dans les bois, Arthur et Uncle se séparent de Charles et Bill. Arthur sauve Uncle d'un garde, puis ils rejoignent Charles et Bill, tuent les poursuivants restants, se partagent l'argent et se séparent dans Scarlett Meadows.

Anecdotes
- ◆During the cutscene after looting the wagon, Uncle can be briefly seen without his beard in one shot. This is a glitch, as he is meant to be wearing his bandana in that scene.
- ◆While being chased by Cornwall's private guard, it is possible to steal one of their horses; the Seal Brown Dutch Warmblood and the Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Half-bred are among them.
- ◆These horses can also be stolen towards the end of the mission when helping Bill and Charles. Wait until Cornwall's men appear with the horses then kill one of them, jump on the horse and stay on until the mission ends. The horse afterwards will stay on the log instead of running away and disappearing.
- ◆The property that the four gang members hide is a barn on Compson's Stead. However, the house appears to be occupied during this mission, despite it being empty and abandoned the rest of the time. With subtitles with names turned on, the person in the house is revealed to be a squatter, hence his reluctance to cooperate with Cornwall's men when asked if he'd seen anything.
- ◆That same squatter appears again in the stranger mission "The Iniquities of History".
- ◆If the player alerts the guard in the barn before Bill does, Bill will criticize Arthur's actions during the firefight.
- ◆If the player does not climb out of the barn to escape, they will eventually burn to death, failing the mission.
- ◆Even if the player fails to be sneaky when Arthur and Uncle must take out the two guards stealthily, Uncle will still comment that Bill and Charles "weren't so lucky" as if Arthur and Uncle were successful.
- ◆If Arthur doesn't save Uncle from the guard after the failed stealth kill, Uncle will scold him for it.
- ◆If the player is spotted near the dead guards after the mission, they will get a "Wanted" status.
- ◆The voice line where Uncle says, "Woah. Let-let-let's hide in here… quick." was actually voiced by his original voice actor, John O'Creagh.
