Following a lead about the Lemoyne Raiders sitting on a pile of weapons, Lenny and Arthur ride out deep into the woods towards Shady Belle.

Lenny Summers interpelle Arthur Morgan à Clemens Point avec une piste sur Shady Belle, un manoir dans les marais occupé par les Lemoyne Raiders. Il explique que les anciens Confédérés rassemblent des armes pour soutenir leur cause. Arthur accepte d'enquêter et ils partent vers le sud. En chemin, Lenny parle du racisme et de la violence auxquels les personnes noires sont confrontées à Lemoyne. Arthur lui dit que Dutch et le reste du gang reconnaissent le travail qu'il accomplit.
À Bolger Glade, ils repèrent un chariot transportant de la dynamite et le suivent à travers les arbres en direction de Shady Belle. Arthur et Lenny cachent leurs chevaux dans les bois et attendent le passage du chariot. Arthur observe le manoir à travers la lunette de son fusil, repérant les gardes, les explosifs et les accès possibles. Il dit à Lenny s'il doit approcher les Raiders pacifiquement pour créer une diversion, ou se prépare à faire exploser la dynamite depuis un abri.
Le plan dégénère en fusillade avec les Lemoyne Raiders. Arthur et Lenny nettoient les lieux, puis fouillent Shady Belle à la recherche des armes promises à Lenny. Ils trouvent un chariot rempli d'armes à feu et l'emmènent pour le gang. Trois Raiders les interceptent sur la route à la sortie de Bayou Nwa, mais Arthur et Lenny les tuent avant de poursuivre leur route avec le chariot volé.
De retour à Clemens Point, Arthur prend un Bolt Action Rifle dans le butin. Il félicite Lenny pour ses capacités et lui dit que les membres plus âgés du gang ont remarqué ses efforts. Lenny remercie Arthur, qui le remercie à son tour tandis que le chariot d'armes est amené au camp.

Anecdotes
- ◆The mission's title is a Biblical reference to Luke 3:3, which says that St. John the Baptist "went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins" (NIV).
- ◆If the player acts quickly after the mission is completed they can ride Lenny's horse Maggie. This is one of the few times a gang's horse can be ridden in game although she will buck the player and run back if they try and leave camp.
- ◆During this mission, Arthur and Lenny will encounter the Abandoned Church for the former to mark as a Point of Interest. If Arthur does inspect it and write it in his journal, then its entry will become available after the mission.
- ◆After completing this mission, the Lemoyne Raiders in Shady Belle will stop respawning. Players will not be able to clear for loot again until after completing "Fleeting Joy".
- ◆After leaving Shady Belle, if the player decides to go off track to avoid encountering the last group of Lemoyne Raiders, Lenny will comment on how he feels he and Arthur "should have met someone by now", hinting at the last Lemoyne Raiders they were supposed to face on the road.
- ◆Even though Arthur doesn't know of Shady Belle until this mission, it is possible for the player to visit Shady Belle when it's a Gang Hideout starting at Chapter 2 and at the beginning of Chapter 3 up until the player initiates this mission. Doing so will have Arthur tell Lenny about being there before when they arrive at Shady Belle.
- ◆This is the only mission where Arthur calls Lenny by his full name, Leonard (occurs after killing the three Lemoyne Raiders after stealing the wagon).
