La Canis Crusader è un SUV militare a quattro porte basato sulla Mesa. Sfoggia mimetica desertica e stelle militari, con paraurti rinforzati, ganci, passaruota neri e una capote che di solito copre l'abitacolo e il vano posteriore. Alcuni esemplari sono privi di tetto. Non ha stemmi né targhe, e le sue ruote nere sono uguali a quelle della Mesa civile. Entrandovi si riceve un Carbine Rifle.
In Grand Theft Auto V, le Crusader compaiono a Fort Zancudo e possono continuare a inseguire gli intrusi oltre la base prima che subentri la polizia ordinaria. Trevor può anche conservarne una dal suo quarto Rampage, inclusa una versione senza tetto se sopravvive. Warstock Cache & Carry la vende per $225,000 e la consegna nell'hangar dell'acquirente. In Grand Theft Auto Online, compare a Fort Zancudo e nei suoi dintorni, mentre Warstock Cache & Carry la vende allo stesso prezzo.
La sua accelerazione e la velocità massima sono nella media della categoria, ed è leggermente più lenta della Mesa, ma si guida meglio e resiste a un fuoco intenso e a urti ripetuti. Il sovrasterzo alle alte velocità e il baricentro alto possono renderla difficile da controllare su terreni irregolari. Los Santos Customs può ripararla ma non modificarla. - ◆The Crusader is the second military SUV in the whole Grand Theft Auto series. The first is the 3D Universe military-orientated Patriot.
- ◆There was a bug that prevents the Crusader from appearing in the player's hangar after purchasing it from Warstock Cache & Carry. If the character owns any aircraft, the Crusader will not appear in the vehicle roster. This has since been patched.
- ◆In the beta version of the game, the Crusader was the only vehicle in the Cargo Plane in the mission Minor Turbulence (as it was seen in the second trailer), but was replaced with the off-road Mesa.
- ◆Unlike the Barracks and the Barracks Semi, the Crusader features a mark on the cargo compartment that reads "Los Santos National Forces". However, like the mentioned trucks, the marks are mirrored on the right side.
- ◆Although Crusaders are available only in a desert camouflage, those that are obtained from Fort Zancudo will spawn in white. However, those that are purchased from the website will come with an applied color on the inner trimmings, usually a red color.
- ◆In the original version, the Crusader could be stored inside any of the purchasable garages for each protagonist. However, in the enhanced version, it is no longer possible, as the car can be already stored in a hangar when purchased.
- ◆The Crusader is classed as an SUV during Grand Theft Auto Online races, making it playable alongside other SUV vehicles.
- ◆As the vehicle is classed as an SUV-class vehicle during races, the player is able to recolor the vehicle. Since the vehicle is plastered with a livery, the color changes only affect the engine bay, and the trimmings around the doors and rear compartment.
