O Submersible é um submarino para uma pessoa da classe Boats. Seu casco compacto traz uma janela frontal arredondada, estrutura externa de tubos metálicos, faróis na frente, pontões de lastro sob a cabine e tanques com tubulações nas laterais. Uma hélice traseira, movida por motor elétrico, faz a propulsão. Leme vertical acima e abaixo da hélice permite controlar o deslocamento debaixo d'água. Nas versões melhoradas, há faixas verde-limão e luzes laterais extras.

Feito para exploração subaquática, e não para velocidade, o Submersible desce até cerca de 150 metros antes dos avisos de pressão. Mais abaixo, o casco sofre danos, e permanecer além de aproximadamente 168 metros faz o veículo implodir. O oxigênio dura por cerca de 24 horas dentro do jogo. Quando fica sem ocupante, ele deriva no mar. Ao sair dele, o ocupante recebe um Scuba Suit.

Em Grand Theft Auto V, um Submersible surge no Sonar Collections Dock depois da compra do local e é usado para recolher barris de lixo nuclear. Trevor rouba um de um navio em Minisub e o utiliza para vasculhar as águas nas duas abordagens de The Merryweather Heist. Outro aparece junto à torre d'água de Sandy Shores Airfield após a abordagem Offshore. Em Grand Theft Auto Online, pode aparecer no Sonar Collections Dock, perto de Humane Labs and Research, na Marina ou no Los Santos Naval Port, em Elysian Island.

Curiosidades

◆Exiting the Submersible while it is submerged will cause the vessel to rise to the surface, requiring the player to swim up to it to re-board (changed by patch from previous behavior, where exiting the sub underwater made it unusable).
◆In the original versions of the game, the Submersible lacks a radio.
◆Cinematic view cannot be used while in a Submersible.
◆At the top of the tail and on the sides (near the front) of the Submersible, "4R53" is written as some form of identification number. This can be Leet translated to "ARSE". The same is seen on the Kraken.
◆Although there is no interior dials listed in the files, the gauges are just variations of dials found in basic aircraft. The same applies to the Kraken.
◆The Submersible the player acquires in The Merryweather Heist is much more durable than normal and is able to go to the lowest point allowed in the ocean, around 0.15 miles.
◆If the player has the invincibility cheat activated when reaching the "crush depth", it will be deactivated. Attempts to activate the cheat again when this happens will be met with a message stating that they cannot enter the cheat at this time.
