Sadie visits John at Beecher's Hope. They leave to hunt down a bounty, Marshall Thurwell, in Tall Trees and discuss other men who have evaded their capture.

John encontra Abigail tricotando na sala de Beecher's Hope. Jack chama os pais para a varanda, onde Sadie Adler acabou de chegar. Abigail recebe Sadie, e mais tarde os quatro comem do lado de fora. Sadie conta que trabalha como caçadora de recompensas e oferece serviço a John. Abigail se opõe, até descobrir que ele já fazia esse tipo de trabalho enquanto ela e Jack estavam longe. Sadie também revela que vem rastreando Micah, ideia que Abigail rejeita de imediato.
A recompensa é Marshall Thurwell, um contador que roubou o patrão em Rhodes e fugiu para West Elizabeth. Abigail deixa John ir atrás desse alvo, desde que ele volte para casa, mas não aceita que ele procure Micah. John e Sadie partem para Tall Trees. No caminho, John diz que pretende se casar oficialmente com Abigail usando o anel que Arthur um dia quis dar a Mary Linton. No acampamento de Thurwell, eles encontram rastros até uma cabana arruinada e um cadáver mutilado na entrada.
Thurwell chama de dentro da cabana, apavorado com um monstro nas proximidades. Ele sai justamente quando um enorme urso-pardo coberto de cicatrizes investe contra John e Sadie. O animal ataca John, até Sadie afugentá-lo com um tiro. Furiosa com a covardia de Thurwell, Sadie o deixa desacordado e John o amarra. A caminho de Blackwater, eles matam dois caçadores de recompensa que tentam tomar Thurwell. Sadie promete avisar John quando encontrar Micah. Os dois entregam Thurwell ao Blackwater Police Department, e Sadie manda o pagamento de John para o banco.
Curiosidades
- ◆It is impossible to kill the bear, no matter the type of ammo, amount of shots, or weaponry used.
- ◆After the bear attacks John, there will be a short moment of time when John is lying down and pointing the gun at the bear. The player can actually shoot the bear during this time even though the game doesn't require you to.
- ◆In the earlier patches when the bear starts its charge against the player, it always equipped John's Cattleman Revolver regardless of what weapon you actually had holstered. In the current patch it DOES let players use their current weapon but swaps back to John's Cattleman Revolver or Mauser Pistol during and after the cutscene.
- ◆If the player has all weapons with all possible upgrades offered by the gunsmith, the game will automatically swap the player's weapon of choice to the M1899 Pistol.
- ◆Due to its size, location, and strikingly similar appearance, it could be possible that the bear in this mission is Brumas the Bear, a legendary animal from Redemption. It also bears resemblance to the Legendary Bharati Grizzly Bear due to the scars on its body.
- ◆When Abigail asks John how many times she has to bury him, this may be a foreshadowing to John's future demise as Abigail and Jack bury John's body.
- ◆This is the only mission in the game in which John uses the f-word, quoting "fucking monster", as he is recovering from surviving the bear attack.
