Também é possível obtê-lo antes durante "Paying a Social Call", caso um O'Driscoll desarme John no tiroteio, tome o revólver dele e o deixe cair. O mesmo pode acontecer em "The Sheep and the Goats". Antes de "Pouring Forth Oil I" e "Pouring Forth Oil III", John pode morrer em Horseshoe Overlook, deixando o revólver no chão ao seu lado.
