Buccaneer (HD Universe)

The Albany Buccaneer is a two-door Muscle coupé for two occupants, built as a personal vehicle. In Grand Theft Auto V, it adopts a much older American muscle-car look than its GTA IV predecessor, with a raised rear suspension that gives it a dragster stance. Its split grille, stacked round headlights, wide chrome bumpers and vinyl-covered roof draw chiefly on the 1965 Buick Riviera, while the rear takes cues from the Pontiac Grand Prix.

Chrome surrounds the windows, wheel arches and lower body, and the cabin uses small circular chrome mirrors. The upper and lower halves can carry separate colours, while the standard wheels resemble the Dukes rims sold at Los Santos Customs in a darker finish. The Buccaneer costs $29,000. Modified examples appear at the bus junkyard at South Shambles Street and Hanger Way in El Burro Heights, usually at night, and similar cars can appear outside Olson's Autos on El Rancho Boulevard in Cypress Flats during the day.

Los Santos Vagos, Families and Ballas also use customized Buccaneers, fitted with altered bumpers, grille, hood, roof, suspension, wheels and tinted windows. A Families Buccaneer can be taken by Franklin without its occupants reacting. Despite its weight, the Buccaneer ranks among the faster Muscle cars, reaching about 110 mph on the first-person speedometer. Its acceleration and braking are ordinary for the class, but it takes most corners with little oversteer and is less prone to spinning than its size suggests.
