Marquis

The Marquis is a two-seat Dinka sailboat-class motorboat. Its HD Universe design is based on the Adjutor, particularly in the bow, stern and quarterdeck, though its prow is shorter. It retains the modern hull introduced in Grand Theft Auto IV, with chrome rails, side lifelines, orange fenders, a wooden deck, cabin windows and a Bermuda rig. In Grand Theft Auto V, the exposed mast reveals a wooden beam.

The boat can appear with two sails on its mast or without sails. When present, they may move in the wind, but they do not propel the Marquis. A single inboard engine and propeller provide its movement instead. The helm sits on the left side of the stern seating area, while the rear carries a broad swim step. Its secondary colour covers lower-hull details, upper side stripes and sections around the cabin windows.

At $4,500, the Marquis is a leisure vessel rather than a fast transport option. It remains among the slowest boats, although it responds to steering and reversing more readily than earlier versions. Its considerable weight and low speed let it handle waves without much trouble, and it can shove smaller boats aside. Its solid mast cannot pass through low obstacles or other solid objects. Marquis props also stand in the Grand Senora Desert, including a wooden example without a propeller.
