Dinghy (HD Universe)

The Nagasaki Dinghy is a four-seat rigid inflatable motorboat in the Boats class. Its design follows military rigid inflatable boats, with a broad inflatable hull, a central console and windscreen, bucket seats with rollbar loops, twin outboard engines and protective stern frames. In Grand Theft Auto V, it also has circular bow headlights. The hull and inflatable body use one colour, while the console, deck fittings and frames can use another.

The Dinghy is a light, quick boat with good speed and manoeuvrability for its class. It is especially suited to confined water routes such as the Vespucci Canals and the creek through Raton Canyon. Its twin outboards produce a relatively quiet, high-revving sound. Michael can find one at the Sonar Collections Dock after meeting Abigail. Others appear around Elysian Island's dry docks, beneath the Miriam Turner Overpass, southwest of the Post OP depository and at Puerto Del Sol Marina in the enhanced version.

The game uses the Dinghy during both approaches to The Merryweather Heist, including Michael's trip through the freighter and Merryweather's pursuit of the crew's Cargobob. Michael, Steve and Dave take one to infiltrate Humane Labs in Monkey Business. It can carry sonar while Submarine Pieces are being sought, and provides scuba gear when its occupants exit. In Grand Theft Auto Online, it is used for waterfront approaches, escapes, pursuits and salvage work, including Method in the Madness, Cleanup Op, Offshore Assets and The FIB Files.
