Savage

The Savage is a four-seat military gunship attack helicopter introduced with the Heists update. Its large, desert-camouflaged fuselage, stub wings, five-bladed rotor and open side doors draw on the Soviet and Russian Mi-24D and Mi-35 Hind variants. The cockpit combines features of early Hind canopies with the later "double bubble" arrangement, while its military markings include Zancudo lettering and U.S. Army-style stars.

The pilot sits in the front cockpit, with a second flight-control position behind for the rocket operator. Two further passengers ride in the rear bay on the side steps. Twin engines, rearward-angled exhausts and six weapon pylons give it the profile of a heavily armed military helicopter. It carries a forward-fixed explosive six-barrel gatling cannon and four rocket launchers, making it suited to sustained attacks on ground targets.

The Savage is large and heavy, with slow acceleration and deliberate handling. It reaches the same top speed as the Buzzard Attack Chopper and climbs naturally under full throttle, but its momentum is difficult to correct and it struggles to pitch downward at speed. Slowing down or hovering makes it easier to bring the cannon onto ground targets. Its cannon can maintain explosive fire while hovering, though over a shorter range than the P-996 LAZER and Hydra. After Smuggler's Run, it survives one explosive hit before a second destroys it.
