Maverick (HD Universe)

The Maverick is a four-seat helicopter in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, built by Buckingham. It retains the broad form of the earlier Maverick, with a shortened nose influenced by the Bell 206 family. GTA V gives it a two-bladed main rotor, larger skid landing gear with steps, divided cockpit windows and silver "MAVERICK" lettering on the engine compartment. Its cabin has a compact instrument console and dual control sticks, although the left front seat controls the aircraft.

A single turboshaft engine powers the Maverick. Its top speed and take-off performance remain unchanged from the preceding version, but its handling is firmer and it turns readily despite the two-blade rotor. It is more durable than earlier Mavericks, though a high-speed collision can destroy it immediately, as with other aircraft. A nose camera can be used by NPCs and by players in GTA Online. The two fitted winches are not usable in GTA V and have limited use in GTA Online.

The Maverick costs $780,000 from Elitás Travel in GTA Online, and can be stored as a Small aircraft in a Hangar in the enhanced version. It appears at Los Santos International Airport and the Vespucci Helipad after rank 7, sometimes at Sandy Shores Airfield, and can also appear near the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Office. Green Mavericks carry parachuting participants at marked sites such as La Puerta. A yellow Lifeguard Maverick also flies over the beach at Pacific Bluffs Country Club.
