Skylift

The HVY Skylift is a six-bladed heavy transport helicopter with seating for two. It returns in Grand Theft Auto V in an unmarked grey finish, replacing the blue Liberty Sky-Lift livery seen in its earlier appearance. Enhanced versions give its cockpit dedicated dials and radar equipment. A large electromagnet is fitted beneath the rotor assembly for lifting cargo.

The Skylift is a mission-only aircraft in Grand Theft Auto V. During Sidetracked, Trevor or Michael flies it to collect train carriages for the Obvious approach to The Big Score, using its magnet to raise and release them. It can be retained after the mission but cannot be stored. It also carries a motorcycle to Maze Bank Tower for the Bank Bailout base jump, although it cannot be taken there. In Grand Theft Auto Online, it transports containers in Air Freight Cargo sales, Casino Work, and The Cargo Ship Robbery, while Planning Work: Safehouse Location has players follow one from Palmer-Taylor Power Station to Don Percival's bunker.

Its great size and mass make the Skylift slow to take off, climb, turn and move forward compared with other helicopters. It feels somewhat lighter and more responsive in Grand Theft Auto V than before, but remains difficult to manoeuvre in confined spaces, where its broad rotor can strike buildings or street furniture. Sustained gunfire and collisions can damage its engines. Its magnet functions in Sidetracked like the Cargobob's hook, allowing it to lift and drop its assigned cargo.
