Compact Rifle

The Compact Rifle is a Shrewsbury assault rifle, a fully automatic compact carbine chambered for STI ACB 7.62mm ammunition. Added to Grand Theft Auto Online with the Lowriders: Custom Classics update, it is built as a shortened AK-pattern weapon. Its design combines a Type 56-style receiver with an extremely short barrel, no stock, a railed AK scope mount and a flash hider. Despite that mount, it cannot take a scope.

Ammu-Nation sells the Compact Rifle for $14,650. It is free to players who own the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack. The weapon can also be found in the sleeping quarters aboard the Kosatka following The Cayo Perico Heist update. Magazine upgrades include an extended magazine and a drum magazine, the latter using the same broad AK-style drum model fitted to the Assault Rifle.

The Compact Rifle inflicts more damage than the Assault Rifle, Carbine Rifle, Special Carbine and Bullpup Rifle, matching the Advanced Rifle's damage. Its rate of fire and range are close to those of the Assault Rifle, but its recoil is heavier and makes it less dependable at close or long distances. It is suited to medium-range fighting and is the first assault rifle in the series usable from a motorcycle, bicycle or boat.
