Grizzly (RDR 2)

The Grizzly is the grizzly bear, Ursus arctos horribilis, a huge omnivorous mammal with a shoulder hump, a concave face and long claws. Its coat is usually dark brown, though its colour can range from pale cream to black. Pale-tipped hairs across its back and shoulders give the animal its grizzled appearance.

Grizzlies live alone and defend their territory aggressively. They are among the most dangerous animals in Red Dead Redemption 2, apart from Legendary Animals and the Lion. Unlike Black Bears, they commonly charge people, including riders on horseback. A bear confronting someone on foot can rush in, knock them down and attack, although it may also stop short with a warning charge.

They can be found around Aurora Basin, Little Creek River, Whinyard Strait and O'Creagh's Run. Hunting a Grizzly yields Bear Pelt, Animal Fat, Bear Claw and Big Game Meat. Its meat, fat and claws are used as food or crafting materials, while Bear Pelt can be sold to the Trapper for the Bear Batwing Chaps and the Bear Dakota Saddle.
