Rare Shotgun

The Rare Shotgun is a rare Double-Barreled Shotgun in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online. Its faded brass finish is tarnished and covered in carvings, reflecting its former owner, a woodsman who lives alone among the trees and wildlife of Roanoke Ridge. It holds two shotgun shells and cannot be customized.

In the story, it belongs to the Hermit at Manito Glade, north of Annesburg in New Hanover. From Chapter 2 onward, he confronts anyone approaching his cottage while carrying the gun. Arthur can take it after killing him, or disarm and hogtie him before picking the shotgun up from the ground.

The weapon handles similarly to the standard Double-Barreled Shotgun, but is treated as a collectible because the Hermit is its only source in the story. It fires Regular Buckshot, Incendiary Buckshot, Slug and Explosive Slug ammunition. In Red Dead Online, it is sold by all gunsmiths and through the Handheld Catalog for $258.
