About this weapon
The Semi-Auto Shotgun is a five-shell shotgun sold as the Brun Et Fabre Semi-Auto. It combines rapid firing with quick reloads and a magazine large enough to keep firing through a close-range fight. It uses Shotgun Ammo, including Regular Buckshot, Incendiary Buckshot, Slug and Explosive Slug loads.
Its range, firepower and accuracy are respectable for a shotgun, although its damage is below average compared with other weapons in its class. The Semi-Auto Shotgun is intended for short-range encounters with several opponents. During Dead Eye Targeting, it fires with every trigger pull instead of needing the manual re-cocking action required by the Pump-Action Shotgun, Repeating Shotgun and most rifles and repeaters.
After "A Fine Night of Debauchery" in Chapter 4, all gunsmiths sell the Semi-Auto Shotgun for $225. It can also be taken from the basement while robbing Watson's Cabin, northwest of Wallace Station. In Red Dead Online, it becomes available to buy at Rank 42.

- โThe gun is based on the real world Browning Auto-5.
- โThe Browning Auto-5 is anachronistic for the first 6 chapters set in 1899 but is period appropriate in the Epilogue set in 1907. While a working prototype existed as early as 1898 the Browning Auto-5 did not enter commercial production until 1902.
