Repeating Shotgun

The Repeating Shotgun is a six-shot shotgun in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online. Its Lancaster design uses a lever-action mechanism like those fitted to repeating rifles, giving the weapon a larger capacity than many shotguns. It accepts Regular Buckshot, Incendiary Buckshot, Slug and Explosive Slug ammunition, with room for up to 200 rounds of Shotgun Ammo in reserve.

In the story, all gunsmiths begin selling the Repeating Shotgun after Arthur Morgan completes "Visiting Hours". It costs $185. If Arthur does not buy one, John Marston has acquired a Repeating Shotgun by 1907 and carries it during "Jim Milton Rides, Again?". In Red Dead Online, any gunsmith sells it once the protagonist reaches rank 11, and it can also be ordered through the handheld catalogue.

The shotgun balances strong firepower with a quick reload, though there is a longer pause between shots. Its six-round capacity permits repeated, measured fire without reloading as often as other shotguns. The game positions it for close-quarter fighting, where shotgun power is most useful while the lever-action system keeps further shells ready.
