Nachdem Trevor Philips Fair Game für Cletus Ewing abgeschlossen hat, wird Hunting in der Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness verfügbar. Während der Tagesstunden begibt Trevor sich zum Jagdanhänger in der Wildnis, um eine Sitzung zu beginnen. Er zieht sein Jagdoutfit an und erhält für die Jagd Zugriff auf Cletus' Tierlockruf sowie ein Sniper Rifle mit unbegrenzter Munition. Vor dem Anhänger steht ein Blazer bereit, um durch die Wildnis zu fahren.
Trevor verfolgt Wildtiere durch das Jagdgebiet, setzt den Lockruf ein, um Tiere hervorzulocken, und bleibt dabei gegen den Wind, damit sie seine Witterung nicht aufnehmen. Dort können Elche, Kojoten, Wildschweine, Pumas und Vögel gejagt werden. Cletus bezahlt je nach Tier und Art des Abschusses, wobei präzise Treffer ins Herz, den Hals oder den Kopf eines Elchs mehr einbringen als schlecht platzierte Schüsse. Während einer Jagd kann Trevor außerdem die Herausforderungen Master Hunter, Weapon Master und Nature Photographer verfolgen.
Nach jedem Abschuss fotografiert Trevor den Kadaver mit seinem Telefon und schickt das Bild an Cletus. Cletus antwortet mit der Bezahlung, während andere Telefonkontakte möglicherweise auf die Fotos reagieren. Wenn das Tageslicht schwindet, warnt Cletus Trevor, dass die Sitzung bald endet, und teilt ihm anschließend mit, dass die Jagd für den Tag vorbei ist. Trevor kehrt zum Anhänger in der Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness zurück.

- ◆In the Ammu-Nation in San Andreas the player can hear the advertising speaker talk about anti-materiel rifles for hunting with the famous punchline: "You don't need to clean the deer when it's already been minced!".
- ◆As in Red Dead Redemption, using very powerful weapons such as the rocket launcher or minigun may damage the animal so one couldn't skin it. Even if the animal can still be pictured, Cletus will pay much less if powerful weapons are used (except in the case of heart shots).
- ◆Although Cletus may ask Trevor if he can kill a female deer, he will still remind him not to kill any if a picture of a dead one is sent to him, and will tell Trevor to consider himself lucky in regards to his payment.
- ◆One can send the photographed kill to almost anyone in the protagonist's contacts list on the cellphone, and they will text back. Depending on the contact, the responses are either specific from the character, or randomized, generic ones.
