После того как Trevor Philips завершает Fair Game для Cletus Ewing, в Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness становится доступно Hunting. Днём Trevor отправляется к охотничьему трейлеру в заповедной местности, чтобы начать охоту. Он переодевается в охотничий костюм и получает доступ к манку Cletus, а также к Sniper Rifle с неограниченным боезапасом на время охоты. Снаружи трейлера припаркован Blazer для передвижения по дикой местности.
Trevor выслеживает животных на охотничьих угодьях, используя манок, чтобы выманивать их, и оставаясь с подветренной стороны, чтобы они не учуяли его запах. Здесь можно охотиться на лосей, койотов, кабанов, пум и птиц. Cletus платит в зависимости от животного и способа убийства, причём точные выстрелы в сердце, шею или голову лося стоят дороже неудачно размещённых попаданий. Во время охоты Trevor также может проходить испытания Master Hunter, Weapon Master и Nature Photographer.
После каждого убийства Trevor фотографирует тушу на телефон и отправляет снимок Cletus. Cletus отвечает выплатой, в то время как другие контакты в телефоне могут реагировать на фотографии. Когда день подходит к концу, Cletus отправляет Trevor предупреждение о том, что охота скоро закончится, а затем сообщает, что на сегодня она завершена. Trevor возвращается к трейлеру в Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness.

- ◆In the Ammu-Nation in San Andreas the player can hear the advertising speaker talk about anti-materiel rifles for hunting with the famous punchline: "You don't need to clean the deer when it's already been minced!".
- ◆As in Red Dead Redemption, using very powerful weapons such as the rocket launcher or minigun may damage the animal so one couldn't skin it. Even if the animal can still be pictured, Cletus will pay much less if powerful weapons are used (except in the case of heart shots).
- ◆Although Cletus may ask Trevor if he can kill a female deer, he will still remind him not to kill any if a picture of a dead one is sent to him, and will tell Trevor to consider himself lucky in regards to his payment.
- ◆One can send the photographed kill to almost anyone in the protagonist's contacts list on the cellphone, and they will text back. Depending on the contact, the responses are either specific from the character, or randomized, generic ones.

Trevor will tell Cletus that he's helping out the "organic food movement". Impressed, Cletus will tell Trevor to hunt more animals.
- ◆If the picture of the dead animal is taken and sent to Cletus while Trevor is using a vehicle (such as the Blazer next to the trailer), that will also count.
