Penumbra

The Maibatsu Penumbra is a two-door Sports coupé with room for two. Its compact, aerodynamic body follows Japanese sport-coupé styling, with a blacked-out front, a wide lower grille, triangular brake intakes and chrome-trimmed lights. The rear has a full-width upper edge, slim central brake light, chrome-backed lamps and twin rectangular exhausts. Its cabin is shared with the Feltzer and Bullet, apart from the Maibatsu badge on the steering wheel.

The Penumbra has a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Its top speed is satisfactory for the class and can improve to Fusilade territory with Los Santos Customs work, but acceleration and braking are comparatively weak. Handling is its strongest trait: it responds sharply through corners at low and high speed. The engine has a forceful note also heard in the Jackal and modern Police Cruiser.

In Grand Theft Auto V, Penumbras can appear in traffic around Alta, Vinewood and Rockford Hills, and may be parked outside Grove Street Garage when the game loads. A Vagos member drives a metallic racing blue example during "Repossession", while Hao owns a customised one in "Shift Work". Trevor can also be seen pursuing Penumbras in two Switch scenes. In Grand Theft Auto Online, Southern San Andreas Super Autos sold it for $24,000 with The High Life Update, before it was removed from the enhanced-version site in the San Andreas Mercenaries update.
