Romero's Hearse

The Romero's Hearse is a four-door, full-size hearse in the Sedans class, built by Chariot. It has room for four occupants and carries the elongated proportions expected of a funeral vehicle, with a long rear compartment and a rear loading door. It shares its wheel design with the Washington, while its cabin uses the Schafter interior rather than the Washington's usual interior. The vehicle costs $45,000.

Its GTA V design uses the Washington body as its basis, adapting it into a modern hearse. It draws particular influence from Eagle Coach hearse conversions, including the Eagle Coach "Oldsmobile" rear section, itself derived from a Cadillac-based hearse. The front retains Washington styling, while chrome trim, rear-quarter lights, curtains and the extended roof distinguish the funeral conversion. GTA V removes the cross decorations seen on the earlier HD Universe model.

The Romero's Hearse may carry an empty rear compartment, a coffin, or a coffin with wreaths. It is offered in one body colour, with stitching matched to that colour, and its rear section remains purple in the enhanced version despite the interior changing from dark purple to black. A single-cam V8 and five-speed, rear-wheel-drive transmission move the heavy vehicle. Its improved top speed lets it build enough momentum to force through obstacles and roadblocks, though its overall performance remains below average for its class.
