The Cow is a domestic farm animal in Red Dead Redemption 2, identified in the game as the Florida Cracker Cow, a subspecies of Bos taurus. It is a herbivore that feeds on grains, hay and grasses. Its large frame distinguishes it from smaller animals and can make it take longer to kill when hunted.
Cows live around ranches, homesteads and other select communities rather than in the wilderness. They appear in northern Saint Denis, Hanging Dog Ranch, Painted Sky, Wapiti Indian Reservation, MacFarlane's Ranch, Hill Haven Ranch, Manzanita Post, Carmody Dell, Emerald Ranch and Beecher's Hope after the Epilogue.
A cow provides Cow Hide and Prime Beef. The hide can be sold to traders, while the beef is used as food. Beecher's Hope can have cows outside the stable, where they can be hunted without the repercussions that normally follow killing livestock on a farm.
