The Goose is the Canada goose, Branta canadensis, a brown and white waterfowl in Red Dead Redemption 2. It lives in the grasslands of The Heartlands and Lemoyne, where it feeds mainly on grass and grain, while also eating small fish and insects. Geese may be encountered on the ground or flying overhead in honking flocks.
They are most commonly found around Emerald Ranch in The Heartlands. A group can also gather at the mouth of the Dakota River near Bard's Crossing, and geese can fly across New Hanover and West Elizabeth. The Varmint Rifle is the suitable weapon for hunting a goose of this size.
A killed and skinned Goose yields Goose Feather, Flight Feather, Animal Fat, Plump Bird Meat and a Goose Carcass. Its plump meat can be cooked and eaten, and its feathers are used in crafting. Because geese often appear in large groups and are easier to kill than bears or boars, they are a quick source of Animal Fat for ammunition crafting.
