The Iguana is a reptile in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, represented by two species: the Desert Iguana, Dipsosaurus dorsalis, and the Green Iguana, Iguana iguana. The Desert Iguana is a moderately sized animal and is generally herbivorous, feeding on perennial plants, fruit and occasional insects.
Green Iguanas occur mainly in Guarma. A separate population lives on the large island east of Flat Iron Lake, west of Clemens Point. Desert Iguanas range across New Austin, including the banks of the San Luis River southwest of Plainview, where they move through grass and can swim in the river.
Iguanas yield Iguana Skin, Herptile Meat and an Iguana Carcass. Their meat is edible, while their skins are used for crafting. A Varmint Rifle can kill an iguana cleanly, and a Perfect Iguana Skin is one of the materials used to make the Materials Satchel camp upgrade.
Trivia
- ◆Along with the population of Cuban land crabs, the population of iguanas on the Flat Iron Lake's large island are assumed to be an accidental introduction from Guarma, since they are found next to a crashed ship; it is assumed that they were stowaways on the ship, and came to the island when it crashed.
