The Parrot, better known as a macaw, is a large, noisy and brightly coloured tropical bird in Red Dead Redemption 2. It is based on three macaw species, the Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Great green Macaw and Scarlet Macaw. The scientific names associated with the animal are Ara ambiguus, Ara ararauna and Ara macao. The three forms are grouped together as Parrots in the game's animal roster.
Parrots are endemic to Guarma. They inhabit the island's tropical areas and can be encountered while resting on the ground or on rocks, as well as in flight. Their large size, loud calls and vivid plumage set them apart as macaws, while the Blue-and-yellow, Great green and Scarlet varieties remain part of the same Parrot entry.
Parrots provide Parrot Feathers, Flight Feathers, Exotic Bird Meat and Parrot Carcasses. They are part of Guarma's endemic fauna, but do not count towards the Skin Deep or Zoologist requirements. Their role is otherwise tied to the materials obtained from the bird and its carcass.
