The Waxwing is a small bird in Red Dead Redemption 2, based on the Cedar waxwing, Bombycilla cedrorum. It lives in both open country and wooded terrain. Its diet consists chiefly of berries and sweet fruit throughout the year, while insects become part of its diet during the breeding season.
Waxwings are found around Benedict Point in Río Bravo and near Riggs Station in Big Valley. As small birds, they can be brought down with a Bow using Small Game Arrows. Their small size places them among the game birds that must be killed carefully if their condition is to be preserved.
A Waxwing provides a Waxwing Feather, Flight Feather, Gamey Bird Meat and a Waxwing Carcass. Its feathers are used in crafting. One perfect Waxwing is required for the final Wildlife Art Exhibition task.
