Old Boy

Old Boy is John Marston's large War Horse, with a Silver Dark Bay coat, standard handling, and a health rating of 4. His speed, acceleration and stamina are each rated 3. John takes him as his mount in 1899 after wolves kill his previous horse during "Enter, Pursued by a Memory". Old Boy first appears at Horseshoe Overlook, where John uses him while Kieran Duffy leads Arthur Morgan, Bill Williamson and John to Six Point Cabin.

After the fight at Six Point Cabin, John rides Old Boy back to camp. They later flee the law during "Pouring Forth Oil - IV", travel to Valentine over the sheep job, and return after Leviticus Cornwall's ambush. At Clemens Point, John rides him to Caliga Hall and the Braithwaite stable, then to Braithwaite Manor after Jack Marston disappears. Old Boy also carries John through the clearing of Shady Belle, the trip from Angelo Bronte's mansion to the cemetery, and the bank robbery that ends with John's imprisonment.

Old Boy is back at Beaver Hollow after John is freed. John rides him in the assault on Cornwall Factory and returns to camp afterward. During "Our Best Selves", John leaves Old Boy to board the train and falls away from it, while the horse makes it back to camp. In "Red Dead Redemption", John tries to escape the Pinkertons on Old Boy beside Arthur. The Pinkertons shoot both horses down, and Old Boy dies during the escape.
