En Shady Belle, Leopold Strauss encarga a Arthur Morgan el cobro de otro préstamo impagado. El deudor es Algie Davison, un pescador que vive en Catfish Jacksons. La tos de Arthur interrumpe la conversación antes de que parta hacia la propiedad.
Arthur encuentra a Algie dormido junto al agua en Catfish Jacksons. Algie despierta y lo conduce a la casa, asegurando que entregará el dinero de la deuda. En la cocina, ordena a su hijo Nate que prepare una bebida mientras busca una caja de dinero bajo el fregadero. Arthur puede aceptar el té o quitarle la caja vacía a Algie. Cualquiera de las dos reacciones deja al descubierto el engaño de Algie, y este ataca a Arthur, a veces con un cuchillo.
Arthur reduce a Algie mientras Nate corre a ocultarse en su dormitorio. Dentro, Arthur encuentra a Nate debajo de la cama. Nate le ruega que no lo mate y reconoce que escondió dinero de su padre en su baúl. Arthur toma el efectivo, abandona Catfish Jacksons y regresa a Shady Belle con el cobro de Strauss.

- ◆When Strauss assigns this mission, Arthur can be seen noticeably coughing, foreshadowing his later diagnosis with tuberculosis.
- ◆It is possible to kill or knockout Algie while he is still sitting near the river, then ask Nate for the money location later.
- ◆Players can also kill or knockout both Algie and Nate and collect the money inside Nate's foot locker directly.
- ◆Both actions will result in a loss of honor.
- ◆If the player robs Catfish Jacksons beforehand, Algie will recognize them and comment on it during this mission.
- ◆Sometimes, a bug may occur where neither Algie nor Nate spawn, regardless of whether the player has already robbed the house or not. In this case, upon reaching the property, the mission will simply prompt the player to search the house for the debt money. The player can walk to the chest beside the bed, retrieve the money, and the mission will be completed.
- ◆The soundtrack that plays during the mission is also used in "The First Shall Be Last".
