Em Shady Belle, Leopold Strauss manda Arthur Morgan cobrar mais um empréstimo atrasado. O devedor é Algie Davison, um pescador que mora em Catfish Jacksons. A tosse de Arthur interrompe a conversa antes de ele partir para a propriedade.
Arthur encontra Algie dormindo perto da água em Catfish Jacksons. Algie acorda e o leva para dentro, dizendo que vai entregar o dinheiro da dívida. Na cozinha, ele manda o filho, Nate, preparar uma bebida enquanto procura uma caixa de dinheiro embaixo da pia. Arthur pode aceitar o chá ou pegar a caixa vazia de Algie. As duas reações revelam a mentira de Algie, e ele parte para cima de Arthur, por vezes com uma faca.
Arthur derrota Algie enquanto Nate corre para se esconder no quarto. Lá dentro, Arthur encontra Nate embaixo da cama. Nate implora que ele não o mate e admite ter escondido dinheiro do pai em seu baú. Arthur pega o dinheiro, deixa Catfish Jacksons e volta a Shady Belle com a cobrança de Strauss.

- ◆When Strauss assigns this mission, Arthur can be seen noticeably coughing, foreshadowing his later diagnosis with tuberculosis.
- ◆It is possible to kill or knockout Algie while he is still sitting near the river, then ask Nate for the money location later.
- ◆Players can also kill or knockout both Algie and Nate and collect the money inside Nate's foot locker directly.
- ◆Both actions will result in a loss of honor.
- ◆If the player robs Catfish Jacksons beforehand, Algie will recognize them and comment on it during this mission.
- ◆Sometimes, a bug may occur where neither Algie nor Nate spawn, regardless of whether the player has already robbed the house or not. In this case, upon reaching the property, the mission will simply prompt the player to search the house for the debt money. The player can walk to the chest beside the bed, retrieve the money, and the mission will be completed.
- ◆The soundtrack that plays during the mission is also used in "The First Shall Be Last".
