Leopold Strauss manda Arthur Morgan sair de Beaver Hollow para cobrar dois empréstimos em aberto. Arthur vai primeiro a Three Sisters, onde J. John Weathers admite não ter dinheiro e oferece as provisões de sua carroça. Antes que Arthur decida o que levar, soldados do Exército dos EUA chegam procurando Weathers por deserção. Arthur luta ao lado dele, enquanto a carroça pega fogo e os mantimentos para o inverno são destruídos.
Depois do tiroteio, Weathers chama a mulher indígena grávida que viaja com ele. Arthur percebe que o casal não tem mais nada e se arrepende de não ter apenas ajudado a consertar a carroça. Weathers oferece um medalhão de prata como pagamento. Arthur pode aceitá-lo ou perdoar a dívida, e manda Weathers levar a mulher para algum lugar seguro antes de sair de Three Sisters.
Arthur segue para a mina de Annesburg atrás de Arthur Londonderry, mas o capataz informa que Londonderry morreu. Ele o manda procurar a viúva em Sawbone Clearing, onde ela está com o filho. Ela conta que o marido trabalhou até morrer tentando pagar as dívidas e que a família está prestes a perder a casa. Arthur pode perdoar a dívida, com ou sem dar dinheiro a ela, e pede desculpas enquanto ela volta para dentro.
Envergonhado pelo serviço que Strauss o fez executar, Arthur retorna a Beaver Hollow e o confronta. Ele arruma os pertences de Strauss e diz que não vai matá-lo, embora ache que deveria. Arthur condena Strauss por explorar pessoas desesperadas, joga dinheiro nele e o expulsa da gangue. Strauss deixa Beaver Hollow com sua mala.

- ◆During Part VI, there are four bits of foreshadowing quotes that Arthur will remember during his final ride to camp in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission depending on his Honor.

- ◆If Arthur does not collect the debt after starting the mission for Strauss, he will confront Arthur for not getting the money then he will leave the camp because of their situation.
- ◆If Arthur kicks Strauss out at night, Simon Pearson and Susan Grimshaw will wake up scared and move out of the way as Arthur is pushing Strauss towards their beds where he packs his bag.
- ◆After completing the mission, Micah will scold Arthur for kicking Strauss out. Abigail, Jack, Mary-Beth, and Pearson will question about his disappearance, whereas Susan won’t question Arthur’s decision, stating that she understands. Sadie and Swanson would be glad that he is gone. Bill and Tilly will question Arthur if he will kick one of them out like he did to Strauss, to which Arthur will assure the latter that he will not.
- ◆If Arthur follows Strauss after being kicked out of the gang, he will see Strauss and his horse disappear instantly, leaving behind his bag.
- ◆If you are fast enough or use mods, you can kill Strauss and his horse, but doing so will decrease the player's honor by 50%. This is the only instance in the game where the player's honor decreases by such a significant amount.
