Leopold Strauss посылает Артура Моргана из Beaver Hollow взыскать два непогашенных долга. Сначала Артур едет в Three Sisters, где J. John Weathers признаётся, что у него нет денег, и предлагает припасы из своей повозки. Прежде чем Артур решает, что взять, прибывают солдаты армии США, разыскивающие Weathers за дезертирство. Артур сражается вместе с ним, а повозка загорается и все запасы на зиму гибнут.
После перестрелки Weathers зовёт беременную женщину из коренных народов, которая путешествует с ним. Артур понимает, что у пары ничего не осталось, и жалеет, что не помог им просто починить повозку. Weathers предлагает в уплату серебряный медальон. Артур может взять его или простить долг, затем велит Weathers отвезти женщину в безопасное место и покидает Three Sisters.
Артур отправляется в шахту Annesburg за Arthur Londonderry, но десятник сообщает, что Londonderry умер. Он направляет Артура в Sawbone Clearing, к вдове, которая находится дома с сыном. Она рассказывает, что муж загнал себя в могилу, пытаясь выплатить долги, а теперь семья рискует лишиться дома. - ◆If Arthur kicks Strauss out at night, Simon Pearson and Susan Grimshaw will wake up scared and move out of the way as Arthur is pushing Strauss towards their beds where he packs his bag.
- ◆After completing the mission, Micah will scold Arthur for kicking Strauss out. Abigail, Jack, Mary-Beth, and Pearson will question about his disappearance, whereas Susan won’t question Arthur’s decision, stating that she understands. Sadie and Swanson would be glad that he is gone. Bill and Tilly will question Arthur if he will kick one of them out like he did to Strauss, to which Arthur will assure the latter that he will not.
- ◆If Arthur follows Strauss after being kicked out of the gang, he will see Strauss and his horse disappear instantly, leaving behind his bag.
- ◆If you are fast enough or use mods, you can kill Strauss and his horse, but doing so will decrease the player's honor by 50%. This is the only instance in the game where the player's honor decreases by such a significant amount.
