Leopold Strauss wysyła Arthura Morgana z Beaver Hollow po spłatę dwóch zaległych długów. Arthur najpierw jedzie do Three Sisters, gdzie J. John Weathers przyznaje, że nie ma pieniędzy, i proponuje zapasy ze swojego wozu. Zanim Arthur zdecyduje, co zabrać, zjawiają się żołnierze armii USA, którzy szukają Weathersa za dezercję. Arthur walczy razem z nim, a wóz staje w płomieniach i zimowe zapasy przepadają.
Po strzelaninie Weathers woła podróżującą z nim ciężarną rdzenną kobietę. Arthur widzi, że para nie ma już nic, i żałuje, że nie pomógł po prostu naprawić wozu. Weathers oferuje mu srebrny medalion w ramach zapłaty. Arthur może go przyjąć albo darować dług, po czym poleca Weathersowi zabrać kobietę w bezpieczne miejsce i opuszcza Three Sisters.
Arthur udaje się do kopalni w Annesburg po Arthura Londonderry'ego, lecz brygadzista mówi mu, że Londonderry nie żyje. Kieruje go do Sawbone Clearing, gdzie wdowa przebywa ze swoim synem. Kobieta opowiada, że jej mąż zapracował się na śmierć, próbując spłacić długi, a rodzinie grozi utrata domu. Arthur może umorzyć należność, z przekazaniem jej pieniędzy lub bez niego, i przeprasza, gdy kobieta wraca do środka.
Zawstydzony tym, do czego Strauss go wykorzystał, Arthur wraca do Beaver Hollow i staje przed nim. Pakuje rzeczy Straussa i mówi, że go nie zabije, choć uważa, że powinien. Arthur potępia go za żerowanie na zdesperowanych ludziach, rzuca w niego pieniędzmi i każe mu opuścić gang. Strauss odchodzi z Beaver Hollow ze swoją torbą.

- ◆If Arthur does not collect the debt after starting the mission for Strauss, he will confront Arthur for not getting the money then he will leave the camp because of their situation.
- ◆If Arthur kicks Strauss out at night, Simon Pearson and Susan Grimshaw will wake up scared and move out of the way as Arthur is pushing Strauss towards their beds where he packs his bag.
- ◆After completing the mission, Micah will scold Arthur for kicking Strauss out. Abigail, Jack, Mary-Beth, and Pearson will question about his disappearance, whereas Susan won’t question Arthur’s decision, stating that she understands. Sadie and Swanson would be glad that he is gone. Bill and Tilly will question Arthur if he will kick one of them out like he did to Strauss, to which Arthur will assure the latter that he will not.
- ◆If Arthur follows Strauss after being kicked out of the gang, he will see Strauss and his horse disappear instantly, leaving behind his bag.
- ◆If you are fast enough or use mods, you can kill Strauss and his horse, but doing so will decrease the player's honor by 50%. This is the only instance in the game where the player's honor decreases by such a significant amount.
