Player notes
The Eagle covers two large birds of prey, the Bald Eagle, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, and the Golden Eagle, Aquila chrysaetos. Both inhabit the mountain country of Ambarino and West Elizabeth. They appear perched on posts and fences or circling overhead, and may dive on fish in the water or rattlesnakes on the ground.
Eagles occur across most of the world, absent from Hennigan's Stead, Great Plains and Bayou Nwa. They are scarce in Scarlett Meadows and Cholla Springs. Bald Eagles prey opportunistically on squirrels, raccoons, rabbits and prairie dogs, while Golden Eagles use their talons against small mammals, reptiles, birds and fish.
A Varmint Rifle is the preferred weapon for an eagle of this size. A killed eagle yields Eagle Feathers, Flight Feathers, Eagle Talons, Gamey Bird Meat and an Eagle Carcass. Its feathers are used in crafting.
