The Northern Pike is a fish species in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, based on the real northern pike. It is a large predator associated with northern rivers, though its range reaches waters in both Ambarino and New Hanover. Its fishing grounds include Lake Isabella, Cattail Pond and the Dakota River in Grizzlies West, Ambarino.
Further east, Northern Pike are found in the Kamassa River and Lannahechee River in Roanoke Ridge, New Hanover. The fish is most active beneath gray, overcast skies. A River Lure attracts it, while food bait is said not to interest it. In Red Dead Online, Worm Bait and Cricket Bait can also draw Northern Pike.
The Northern Pike can be difficult to land because it fights fiercely after taking the hook. Catching one yields Flaky Fish Meat. There are also reports of a massive Legendary Northern Pike somewhere in the Grizzlies, or of one that existed there in the past.
