Player notes
The Pigeon is a bird species in Red Dead Redemption 2. Its listed scientific names are Patagioenas fasciata, Columba livia and Zenaida macroura. The species includes the Band-tailed pigeon and the Rock pigeon. The call of the Mourning Dove can also be heard at several places in the world, although that bird does not appear physically.
Pigeons occur around Bard's Crossing, Annesburg and Saint Denis. They are also found in Bayou Nwa, along the Dakota River and across Roanoke Ridge. In Bayou Nwa, Band-tailed pigeons gather behind an abandoned building beside the railway tracks near the Legendary Lake Sturgeon, where two or three may be present together.
A killed Pigeon provides Pigeon Feather, Flight Feather, Gamey Bird Meat and a Pigeon Carcass. These materials make the bird a source of feathers, meat and carcasses when it is hunted. The game distinguishes its Pigeon Feather from the more general Flight Feather obtained from the animal.
