American Fathers II

Arthur meets Eagle Flies outside Cornwall Kerosene & Tar in the Heartlands. Eagle Flies wants a report concerning the oil beneath the Wapiti Indian Reservation, hoping it can help his people resist removal from their land. He suggests that Arthur enter the refinery concealed in one of its incoming wagons. Arthur agrees to the plan but makes clear that Eagle Flies is meant to remain out of sight unless he is needed.

On a rain-soaked night, Arthur climbs into a wagon and passes through the refinery gate. After getting out inside the grounds, he slips past the guards and enters the factory. He works his way upstairs to the foreman Danbury's office, then secures the door behind him. Arthur forces Danbury to reveal where the report is kept and takes the file from the office.

A guard comes to the door and asks Danbury whether everything is all right. Arthur makes Danbury answer him, allowing the guard to leave. Arthur escapes through a window, but the rain makes him lose his footing on the roof. He falls into view of several guards, who surround him and order him to surrender.

An oil well suddenly explodes, distracting the guards long enough for Arthur to reach cover. Eagle Flies reveals himself as the source of the blast, and he and Arthur shoot their way out of Cornwall Kerosene & Tar. They ride from the Heartlands to Twin Stack Pass, where Arthur hands over the report. Eagle Flies pays him and says he hopes the documents can keep the Wapiti from being driven from their land.
