Player notes

Eagle Flies, the second son of Wapiti chief Rains Fall, has already lost his mother and brother to the U.S. Army before the Wapiti are confined to their reservation in the Grizzlies East. As the Van der Linde gang leaves Colter for Horseshoe Overlook, he watches their journey from a cliff with Rains Fall and Paytah. He later accompanies his father to Mayor Henri Lemieux's party in Saint Denis, where Arthur Morgan first meets him.

Eagle Flies and Rains Fall tell Arthur and Evelyn Miller that the Army intends to remove the Wapiti so Leviticus Cornwall can drill for oil. Arthur agrees to help obtain proof. Near the Heartland Oil Fields, Eagle Flies directs him into Cornwall's refinery on a wagon. Arthur steals the papers but is trapped while leaving. Eagle Flies sets off an explosion outside, then fights alongside Arthur until they escape. He pays Arthur, hoping the documents can aid the Wapiti's case.

Eagle Flies later arrives at Beaver Hollow with Charles Smith after the Army seizes the tribe's horses. Dutch van der Linde agrees to recover them, with Arthur and Charles joining him. They take a canoe to the ferry, overpower its guards, release the horses and return them to shore. Dutch then draws Eagle Flies into a plan to ambush soldiers in a valley. The Army's reinforcements overwhelm them, Paytah is wounded, and Eagle Flies is captured and taken to Fort Wallace.

Arthur and Charles break Eagle Flies out of Fort Wallace and get him downriver in a canoe before returning him to Rains Fall. Soon after, Eagle Flies brings young Wapiti warriors to Beaver Hollow and leads an assault on the Heartland Oil Fields despite his father's pleas. Arthur, Charles and Sadie Adler follow. During the battle, Eagle Flies saves Arthur after Dutch leaves him behind, but Colonel Favours shoots him. Arthur kills Favours and carries Eagle Flies back to the reservation with Charles and Paytah. Eagle Flies dies in Rains Fall's arms.

  • โ—†Both are acquaintances of the protagonist during their first meeting and later mutual respect due to American civilization ruining their life and society. For Eagle Flies, he despises the US Army for their cruel treatment of Wapiti Tribe and respected Arthur for serving his tribe. For Nastas, both he and John cooperate to stop the young tribe from joining Dutch's Gang as it will lead to further destruction for his tribe. Nastas is angry that the hunters only hunt buffalo for sport which leads to near extinction of the buffalo, and he claims that the US government had no respect for land as they cut their trees and used their land for industrialization.
  • โ—†Both are sympathized with by protagonists about their tribes at conflict with the US government.
  • โ—†Both tried to help their own tribe in different ways. Eagle Flies prefers violence and vengeance against the US Army for attempting to steal their horses and their medicine for smallpox, and especially imprisoning him in Fort Wallace after Colonel Favours violated the treaty that they signed upon themselves. Nastas prefers nonviolence as he attempts to save his tribe from joining Dutch's gang by cooperating with the US government, similar to how Chief Rains Fall tried to save his tribe from being annihilated by the US Army by making a peace agreement with the US government unconditionally, only to be violated by Colonel Favours and Leviticus Cornwall. Nastas does use violence only to defend himself; as John and Nastas venture themselves to a mining area in Tall Trees looking for a way in to scout Fort Cochinay, he shoots an insane miner after getting injured in the arm with a knife.
  • โ—†Both of them ultimately die under tragic circumstances: Enepay shoots Nastas in the head, while Colonel Favours shoots Eagle Flies in the abdomen, and he eventually succumbs to his wounds after he arrives at the Wapiti Reservation.
